This unique watercolor by Sawyier shows the moon hovering over the trees on the horizon with glimmering shadows covering the Kentucky River. This scene with the tie-down posts, for possibly a small fishing boat, also shows the hand-laid walk-way ascending the river bank.

Most likely painted on one of his many journeys on his houseboat. The scene is just another example of Sawyiers love of the river and nature.
