This colorful watercolor by Sawyier has “Benson Pike-Benson Depot” written on the back of the original. This area just west of Frankfort towards the Shelby County line was another one of his favorite painting grounds. This scene shows the peaceful and serene settings of a country road of days gone by.

The trees in this scene looks as if the season could be very early fall and most likely was done in the early evening hours.
